Post EventThank you to everyone who went out to eat on February 21st at either The Broken Egg, JPAN Restaurant or Café Venice Restaurant & Wine Bar. These generous establishments donated 10% of the day’s proceeds to the Payton Wright Foundation. By simply dining out, restaurant patrons helped raise more than $2,000 for The Payton Wright Foundation’s Payton’s Angels program which provides hospitalized children with custom care packages intended to bring a bit of comfort to the hospital. Care packages are based on children’s’ age and gender and include everything from a snuggly blanket and stuffed animals to coloring books, crayons and DVD’s.

Dine & Give 2015

Patrons dine, restaurants give to the Payton Wright Foundation

February 21, 2015

Several area restaurants will donate 10% of their sales on Saturday, February 21, 2015 to benefit the Payton Wright Foundation (PWF), a Sarasota based nonprofit organization providing assistance for families caring for a child with brain cancer. The Broken Egg, Jpan Sarasota and Café Venice Restaurant & Wine Bar are participating in Dine & Give 2015. Proceeds from this inaugural event will go specifically to Payton’s Angels, a program providing care packages with items such as stuffed animals, DVDs, games, coloring books and crayons, a soft throw, all designed to bring a bit of home to a hospitalized child.

Established in 2008 by Patrick and Holly Wright, the foundation honors the memory of their daughter, Payton, who passed away from brain cancer at the age of five. The Foundation works with families, physicians and social workers to provide practical relief for things such as fuel, food, or housing expense so that families can give full concentration to their child’s care and treatment.

“This will be a true gift from the community,” comments Holly Wright, “and we thank the restaurants – and their patrons – for contributing to such an important cause.”
